Progression

LIttle by little I have made it week by week. It has been 8 weeks on crutches. Long weeks, even though time always flies by, it has been long. It helped to have the holidays to entertain part of those long weeks, and Maui is amazing for hanging out and healing. The vibe here is amazing. Its truly a one of a kind-kinda place. Soft, sweet, fresh, salty yet sweet. I enjoy being able to sit and look out across the ocean, dreaming of far away places and ideas. Letting the good and the bad thoughts twirl around in the wind and go crashing onto the rocks with the waves.

Lately It has been a bit stormy here with powerful swells coming in and hazing clouds cover the island. I like to get caught up with nature and relax into the moment. Its hard to do when you are injured and your thoughts are consumed with what will happen next, will I be able to do it, will I be scared…. so its nice to become one with something. To have faith in something and my faith is nature, the environment I am surrounded by. I like the birds and the leaves, the palm trees and the sunsets, the whales and the sea fish. I like to dive deep into the ocean with my eyes closed and the water massaging my body to become one with nature is so invigorating and calming.

I am about to start the next healing process. Its time to walk again. It may take a while, but Im ready to put that left foot down and to dig it into the sand and walk along the beach. I want to walk, it sounds so simple and easy but right now that is the biggest adventure I have coming my way and Im super excited!

  1. Dang Resi!
You helped me to remember the blessings that I need to be counting daily. Good for you to be pushing the envelope back to health. Keep it up! Good stuff!

Yes Resi soon you will take long walk on the beach, soon you will be hiking on the mountains.Soon you will be free of the cruches.
All because you have the positive attitude in you, and you never give up, and always smile at life

  5. Resi Stiegler: I found your web place by accident as your accident made it on the You Tube video showing skiing racing accidents. My crush was Kathrin Zettel. I felt really awful to see her crash. It is a very fast sport. How fast do one goes down, average? It must be terrible and you went beyond the net fence. My friend, the son of the owner of Happy Donuts in baseball park in San Francisco is paralyzed from falling off a ridge while just standing during snow boarding. He was not boarding at the time. Great to meet you here.
